 Well there you have it. Our bodies are so finely tuned the oil and fats that we absorb through our skin can - amazingly - not only stall your weight loss, it can cause you to gain weight.

 Dr. Simeons specified in the diet that “. . . no cosmetics other than lipstick, eyebrow pencil and powder may be used without special permission.” However, today's market offers an incredibly diverse selection of products, unlike fifty years ago. For example, mascara used to be made with petroleum jelly, unlike today. Most other beauty products contained lanolin and/or oil. Today there are many ‘oil free’ products available.It is not necessary to go out and replace all of your beauty/toiletry products! Many participants use many of their usual products. However, do replace your oil-based makeups and lotions, since those will be absorbed by the skin. Try to go foundation and lipstick free on the days you are home. Perhaps you can also get away with no deodorant when you are home.  If you find your hands are getting extremely dry try baby oil or Johnson's Baby Oil Gel (which is basically mineral oil) and gloves at night. And if you need to rub lotion or ointment into a young child you may want to don some gloves first.

Again, Dr. Simeons' protocol calls for mineral oil as the only moisturizing agent.  Baby oil is basically mineral oil.  If you simply cannot handle that, here are some products that are better than the oil-based.  Please be sure to always read labels for oil (or anything ending in “ose”), and products with fats, as well as petrolatum, petroleum jelly, sorbitol, lanolin, cocoa butter and glycerin.

Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Whole Oats, or your local health food store/aisle are good places to look for these products --- or shop online.

hCGMiracle Tip:  If you find you have very dry lips or they begin to crack you may find relief with a few applications of a medicated lip product, such as medicated blistex.  Just use sparingly and only until lips heal up.  

HCG Total Fat Loss Detox Bath
1 - 2 cups of baking soda, and 1 - 2 cups of epsom salt to the bathtub to soothe your skin while helping your body eliminate toxins.  Heavenly!

Unless you have very oily hair, try just rinsing your hair in the shower, and only shampoo/condition every 4 (or so) days.  Your hair color will last longer this way, too.

Hair Color
We have yet to hear of anyone who has had a stall or weight gain from getting their hair colored, so go ahead ladies ... color that stripe.  Just be sure to use a "safe" conditioner afterwards.
